About 70,000-75,000 years ago a volcano eruption in Lake Toba, Indonesia, killing all life in it's immediate area. The explosion caused the sky to cloud with ash, r coldening the global climate
|
The roughly, 7 year winter resulted in the 'Bottleneck effect', in Lake Toba's population. The population reduced to roughly a few thousand surviving. During this period Homo Neanderthalensis, Homo Floresiensis and Homo sapiens were alive.
The unlikeliness of survival was defeated due to their advanced sophistication compared to other species. Their fire and tools skills gave them a stronger chance of living. |
